You hardly realize that you've come to the right place when you walk in through the somewhat unassuming entrance. We are guided through a small passage into the restaurant itself. Along the way, there is a whiff of what can best be described as sewage. But we quickly forget that little dip when we enter one of the rooms where tables are stylishly set with white tablecloths. The furniture has a certain vintage feel and the red steel chairs break off from the white.
Our sommelier for the evening is also the one serving and guiding us through the detailed menu. And he does so with honor. There is an art to bringing food and drink to life in a knowledgeable and enthusiastic way, without it tipping over into nerdy calendar bitery. But here the commitment feels genuine. And it adds a lot to the experience to get the background and the idea of both food and drink.
